I gave each a hug and kiss.
Somehow Griffin had not realized this occurred.
"I want to give you a hug and kiss."
I replied, "Sure," and walked back to his bed.
I gave him an additional hug and kiss.
After receiving these gifts he protested,
"I wanted to give YOU a hug and kiss."
Somehow I had missed the intent of that request.
So I leaned down again and graciously accepted the loving affection of my 4 year old.
and was already asleep.
I could hear Lincoln pleading
to give his hugs and kisses.
As I wandered over to his bed I told Griffin,
"I love you. You make me so happy."
"I know. Mom's and dad's love hugs and kisses
and then they don't give spanks."
He wasn't even close to being in trouble.
Yet, he believed it was important to plant
these seeds of love and affection.
Who knows when he might need to harvest them and
sell them for a get out of jail free card.
I don't need glasses to see.
This boy is a genius!
