Run Wendy, Run


Monday slumps.



Did NOT feel like running today.

I jogged through the mental obstacle course of pros and cons for running today.

I am really bogged down by my period that started 4 days ago,
I shouldn't have to run today.
I ran on Friday, this excuse was therefore weak at best.

So I dug deeper.

I am getting an hour late start.
It might be too hot.
I consulted weather.com and was informed it was 78.
Well, weather was out as an excuse.

So much to do around the house.
Crap, I'd rather go running than clean the house right now.

I haven't eaten anything yet.
That excuse was foiled by the cereal in front of me.

Don't feel like it?
As if tomorrow will be easier.
Music?
No excuse here, Zune fully charged.

Fitness clothes? Easily found.
Water? Plenty of chilled bottles in the fridge.

Out of excuses? Yep.

Back from running.
Feel great.
Wasn't hard.
Tomorrow will be easier.
Especially, if I skip the mental marathon
And just put my running shoes on.

Thank goodness there is only one Monday in every week!

Haha! That is hilarious! I use those excuses too, as well as the fact that I have to get up early to run, it's getting dark, it's getting cold out, or I will run in the evening- never happens by the time Matt gets home it's already dark outside and I am pooped myself!

Running in the morning is always the better choice but I haven't run more than 4-5 times since my half-marathon Aug 13-14! Really sucks because now it is going to seem like I am starting over. :( And the soda that my mom sent home for Matt that I drank just kills the lungs. But if I know you are making a valiant effort to run in the mornings then I won't be so alone thinking I am the only out running.

So perhaps in the morning I will be running with you, but only 500 miles apart!
