Little Mr. Mason

  Mason Sawyer Daw
Many people came to support Mason on his big day

Oops, I wish I had checked the picture of our family...

Griffin was distracted and I was kind of blocking Mason.

We are quite pleased with our newest addition.
He enjoys going for walks...
Most importantly, he puts up with us.

 We have increased in numbers.
We are no longer My 3 Daws...
Yep, very original, we are now, My 4 Daws.
Mason Sawyer joined the crew July 14th and this is his picture at one month
He is adored by all.
My husband told the boys about this fad where people throw themselves into a picture.
Every time the camera came out the kids would start leaping around.
The kids couldn't quite catch the concept that one person is supposed to pose naturally for the photo while someone else leaps in.  We certainly got some fun pictures.
No absence of personality over here.
When Mason heard about it...he wanted in as well.
I think he will fit right in! :)

Love My Boys

All of my pictures are on my camera...
Love is in the air
Valentine's is almost here
We'll know if we are having a boy or girl in 10 days!!
We are all excited to know will it be pink or blue.
Let's face it...we are pretty sure it is BLUE! :)
We can't go wrong either way!

A Word To The Wise...

Wise Men...
Still...
Seek Him!
And for those who seek Him,
The greatest gifts of
Peace and Joy are found!

Merry Christmas!

To yours!

Blessed with Boys

My boys shared messages in church in English and Spanish
To say I was proud is a gross understatement!

If I were to create the perfect dream of three children,
I wouldn't have to go to sleep to enjoy such an experience.
Each son has mastered a full year of infant night waking,
Survived severe ear infections,
Triumphed at toddler terrorism ages 1, 2, 3 or 4,
And all are blazing trails through beloved boyhood.

I am grateful to Heavenly Father,
My husband and these sweet boys,
For all the joys I experience in this life.

Cars are Friendly

Griffin's latest creation

Cars have always been a favorite at our house.

You can never have too many

Throw them,
Make garages full of them,
Drive them everywhere,
Bring a few to school, in the bath, car, etc.

Making a friend out of them.
That was a new one.

I thought the hair was a particularly nice touch!

You've Got a Friend in Me

Bedtime Routines

Always includes a variety of antics
Giggling
Occasional Crying, (theirs or mine)
Repeated Cajoling
Threats
Hugs & Kisses

Early in little Brian's life we learned bedtime routines were essential. The routines evolve. Our current process involves bath alternating nights or daily if extended outdoor activities, pajamas, brushing teeth, last drink, last pee, prayers, bedtime song.
Always a song or 12.

Lately, one or two.

Over the last 6 months Griffin has religiously requested "You are my Sunshine"
sung 2-3 times each time.
The first round he interrupts frequently
needs one last drink, forgot to pee etc
The second round is all business,
involving strict counsel,
"You better try to sleep or I won't continue singing"
Round three is a shortened rendition reserved for middle of the night
after bad dream, needed to pee, or tummy aches.

The favorite part of the song goes like this,
"The other night dear, while I lay sleeping, I dreamt I held you in my arms,
but when I woke up, I was mistaken, it was only dad,
(if dad is in ear shot he yells "hey")
and I hung my head and cried..."

Lincoln has now become a big fan of the theme song from Toy Story,
"You've got a Friend in Me"
It may or may not have anything to do with his successful playing of
Toy Story 3 on the XBOX 360.
He requested it Tuesday night and I stumbled through the words, made up a few etc. Then promised next time I would have the words.

Last night I printed them up and sang it to Lincoln.

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles
From your nice warm bed
You just remember what your old pal said
Boy, you've got a friend in me
Yeah, you've got a friend in me

You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got troubles,well I've got 'em too
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you
We stick together and we see it through
Cause you've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me

Some other folks might be
A little bit smarter than I am
Bigger and stronger too
Maybe
But none of them will ever love you
The way I do, it's me and you

Boys, and as the years go by
Our friendship will never die
You're gonna see it's our destiny
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
You've got a friend in me
Yeah

Gotta say, it is the perfect mom and son song!
I added the last yeah and Lincoln told me that it wasn't part of the song.
The next night he insisted that I include the 'Yeah' at the end.
Yep, he is hooked.
If only I was this awesome all the time.
A little shout out to Google lyrics and Toy Story
One more way to ensure my children remember they can rely on mom.

'Boys, You're going to see it's our destiny
You've got a friend in me.
Yeah!'
