Run Wendy, Run

Monday slumps.

Did NOT feel like running today.

I jogged through the mental obstacle course of pros and cons for running today.

I am really bogged down by my period that started 4 days ago,
I shouldn't have to run today.
I ran on Friday, this excuse was therefore weak at best.

So I dug deeper.

I am getting an hour late start.
It might be too hot.
I consulted weather.com and was informed it was 78.
Well, weather was out as an excuse.

So much to do around the house.
Crap, I'd rather go running than clean the house right now.

I haven't eaten anything yet.
That excuse was foiled by the cereal in front of me.

Don't feel like it?
As if tomorrow will be easier.
Music?
No excuse here, Zune fully charged.

Fitness clothes? Easily found.
Water? Plenty of chilled bottles in the fridge.

Out of excuses? Yep.

Back from running.

Feel great.

Wasn't hard.

Tomorrow will be easier.

Especially, if I skip the mental marathon

And just put my running shoes on.

Thank goodness there is only one Monday in every week!

Baby Blessings & Daw Doings

Justin & Amy welcomed Little Chase to the family.

It was time to give him a Blessing...
We hit the road for Las Vegas to celebrate.

Chase was blessed on his daddy's birthday...
Pretty special.
We brought some party favors!

They were a hit!
Matt & Britt brought the twins.
To say they are delightful is an understatement.

Yep. Told you they were adorable.

Sugar, Spice & everything Twice!
These twins are amazing and so are the parents.

Grams was unable to attend, but
All 3 of her girls were present.

The blessing was beautiful.
Two things were very clear to me,
This little guy is destined for greatness,
And he is very loved!

It was a perfect day.
The sun was shining, as evidenced by the squinting eyes.
The birds were singing, because everyone was on time.
And My 3 Daws managed to keep their shirts clean!
Hallelujah!

No trip to Vegas would be complete without
Quality time with Tutu & Papa.

Tootsie was walked 3 times in one morning.
Little Brian gave the twins rides in the mini motor car.
When it seemed all avenues for fun had been exhausted,

Papa busted out with Water Rockets.

And Exhilaration soared to new heights!
Thankfully no Daws were injured in the making of this weekend adventure.

Back To School Boys

Had to start the first day of preschool by creating an A man...man made out of the letter A. Lincoln quickly decided A-Man needed Camo pants "wike me."

Lincoln was impressed with our new friend.
I am happy with his interest in the letter A.

This is our first year going to school with cousins.
Very exciting for us.
Sage and Griffin share a kindergarten class...

It is probably safe to say Lincoln remains her favorite!

Our Brian, the big bad 4th grader, is quite pleased with his new spectacles.
His best friend also wears glasses, no doubt increasing his love for them.
A few hours after putting on the new glasses he said,
"Things just keep getting better and better for me."
He is right.

We have a great carpool for Lincoln's school.
Lincoln also has a Thursday play group.
Brian & Griff can walk to school around the corner.
We are wicked close to the school, and Brian is so responsible.

Yep. Life is good.

What Do You Do in the Summer time?

What do you do in the summer time,
When storms turn your pool green?
Do you swim in your pool,
To keep yourself cool,

And invite all your friends to come by?

Is that what you do?
So Do I!!!

Note to concerned readers: This pool was not actually "green".

The mother of all dust storms swept in a few weeks ago. The pool looked like this for one day.

Try not to be too alarmed. We were in no imminent danger!

As a public safety announcement: This is not an ad encouraging people to swim in green pools! :0)

Mr. Griffin has a Birthday

Someone turned 6 on Friday
Griffin took no prisoners

Fun was his middle name

He got weapons, assault tanks
& mad money

Celebrated with family

...And Friends

He got presents

He bought this amazing race track with birthday money from Tutu and Papa

His party wouldn't have been complete with out

a Fighting game and Phineus & Ferb presents
He selected a Dragon Birthday Cake

Personally chose for it to say:

"Happy Birthday Griff Dragon"

The best surprise of the day was awakening to 5 little puppies and their mom.

Nothing beats a little happy birthday snuggle from something so small.

None of us could resist a little puppy charm

Daw Do-ings

We have been too busy for professional family pictures
We gave it a shot on our own.
Not bad for a timer, eh?

Brian embraced basketball and discovered some talent
He is a speedy defender and insists on precise execution of the plays

Yes, We have been pretty busy around here...

We discovered Griffin's hearing impairment
He had surgery to optimize his hearing
Perfection was out of reach,
but his hearing improved on one side,
and we will continue Quarterly evaluations for improvements or declines.

We are having fun playing tee ball...
Do not be fooled by our cuteness
In the beginning we played only for the
post game treats!
Tonight Griffin hit a great pitch thrown by his coach

My baby turned 4!

Celebrations ensued with
Pizza, Pals, Money and more

Aunt Brittany brought the twins
for us to adore
Soon I will post more and update with grace
After I stop this ridiculous pace!
