Masters of Mayhem

Don't let their innocent looks deceive you, these two are the Masters of Mayhem!
It still amazes me how messy one person can get!

Paper towels all over the floor. Why not Right?

Yes, Mommy's Little Monkey's.

So Sweet, Yet so Synyster...

Whether casually eating Pizza. . .

Or Spreading Cereal all over the Floor.

Griffin has always been a prodigy in the "ART" of Rice Krispy scattering.

Of course, Griffin is always eager to share his knowledge with the youngest apprentice.

Luckily for me these Boys know how to turn on the charm! After all, who can be mad at these brilliant baby blues?

Smile and Wave Boys,
Smile and Wave!

Yoda

The boys got the old Halloween costumes out in June. They looked so cute that I took plenty of pictures. Regrettably, I managed to get candle wax on the Bee antennae so now the Bee costume is out of the question for Halloween. What is a girl to do? Our Soldier and Astronaut, what will these little boys be when they grow up? Brian always tells me the great things he will do. "I am going to be a master chief!" or "I will be a builder and make a house for you." I love to hear his dreams.

It is also amusing to hear his impressions of my future. Mom what will you be when you grow up? I say, well I am a mom and a nurse. He says, Yes, but you could still be something else. My favorite is when he tells me, "Remember when you used to be smart?, You know, Before, when you went to nursing school?" I say casually, whatever do you mean? and he will reply, "After you got out of school all of the information kept falling out of your brain, but you used to be smart." I take comfort in knowing he thinks I used to be smart. This one was too cute to skip. You have to love Lincoln flying blind!

If my kids didn't know any better, I would keep these pictures to represent Halloween this year. I could avoid the costume dilemma altogether. Unfortunately, I have been reading these amazing motherly blogs. To even consider skipping a holiday, and then to share it, I dispel the notion that I too could be one of those super amazing mothers. You know, the ones who make the costumes from scratch, perfectly decorate the home, plan several of their own halloween parties.

Luckily for me, I think I still have these three amigos fooled.

I don't think the dad is much the wiser either... Unless... He just tries to motivate me to greatness with superfluous praise... in which case he reveals that he IS wise beyond his years. Now I know. My husband is Yoda! He tells me, "Try not. Do, or do not. There is no try" Hmmm, so I have to just BE the super amazing mother!

Well, I must be off, much to do, Super amazing moms are VERY Busy!

Sword Fights

Yesterday I came home and the kids were having Sword Fights. As you may notice these boys joust with their swords in their mouths. It is always important to practice sword fighting with your mouth in the event that you might need your hand for more important things. As you may notice Lincoln needs his to hold a pacifier. It comes in handy if you want to punch someone, or what have you. Griffin does not need body armour a diaper will suffice. Play on Playaz!

Who doesn't enjoy a good duel now and then? It is always nice to come home. Who knows what battle will be playing out?

Motorcycle Accident Update

I visited Dave and Jake in the hospital today. Jake does not cry or complain. I brought some movies and a blizzard in hopes of providing some distraction for the little guy. Jodell is right there catering to his every need. We continue to pray for swift healing and renewed strength.

The Trauma surgeon made it very clear he wants Dave to consume high calorie foods today. He wants him to get his calories up to help strengthen him for his surgery tomorrow. My dad picked up Dave's every desire from Jack-in-the-Box. I am sure that an oreo shake never tasted so good.

Dave has been scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning at 8am. He also has multiple fractures in his hands and the hand surgeons will place splints for that. All of the Doctors have been genuine, thoughtful, and attentive. We are thankful for the surgeons and pray for their steady skilled hands to work miracles tomorrow.

Mo Lovin

I scrolled through the last couple of years and realized unless I had a brand new baby I really don't get in very many pictures, Only the token, Gee we are on a trip let's take a picture while everyone is going nuts. Plus, let us put the fate of how great our picture turns out in the hands of a mere stranger. So I got in a few pictures the other day. Hard to believe that is an accomplishment.

Vacations
I am also not that big a fan of lugging children off somewhere, breaking their routine, losing sleep, screaming babies in the car, screaming mom in the car, etc... I love a vacation, don't get me wrong, but I just don't see vacation hiding anywhere amongst the happenings of those trips.
Luxury, Relaxation, Spontaneous Fun, Activity initiated just because I want to do it, nope not seeing it. I say, Honey don't you want to go to Vegas, oh and I guess you will need to bring the kids. I work one day and then scrapbook, go to movies, stay up late, sleep in.
Ah Yeah, Party Time. Staying home can be a luxury vacation. Who needs to leave if the kids do.
As the saying goes, What happens when they're in Vegas.....

Griffin my little picture hater has been into looking handsome lately. On Monday I was trying to leave and he wanted to wear a "Jacket" like mom. We say button up shirt, Griffin sees jacket. He was working me so that I would bring him with me. I caved once and now look where it has got me: He kept throwing out I am so handsome ploys. I was on to him this time. I still played it up though, I found him a jacket and fixed his hair. Don't look too closely or you will see a dirty face...
Crap I am not perfect! Man!

So I read the CJane blogs and they were talking about the power of touch and how it has always been important to their family. Whenever they love someone up, massage, tickle etc. they call it mugging. I thought that was cute. Since reading that I have found opportunities for my own Muggings. If Griffin or Lincoln are wacked out cranky or disasterous I ask if they need more loving. It works like a charm. I say, do you need extra lovin and then fake kiss them all over their heads and squish their faces up really silly. They love to come back for more! Lincoln even says "Mo Lovin."
I don't recommend this tactic for Husbands. They do not need such encouragment!

The Big Kahuna

There is No Doubt in my mind that my kids have a cool dad. No Doubt. When I work a couple Saturdays a month he will take them out to do cool stuff. He has loaded the "Sweet Ride" as little Brian calls it, with 3 boys and stuff galore and off to Las Vegas for a weekend.

Then there are the Children's Museum or Dinosaur Museum. If they just stay home they all Rock out on Rock Band. Surely, this man still has his youthful zest.

One Saturday he took them to the Mall to see the SWAT Hummer, Helicopter, Fire Truck, and Police Car/Motorcycles. Does it get anymore fun than that? Everything was hands on and he even remembered the camera. Bless Him!

Griffey wore a shirt that said, "My Dad is the Big Kahuna." As they were checking out the SWAT Hummer a muscle clad SWAT officer looked at my husband and said, "I take it your The Big Kahuna?" with a great chuckle. Oh what I would've paid to have been there that day.

Brian is Just Living the Dream
Sat on the Police hog
Wore the Fireman Gear complete with goggles, hat and Gas Mask, while in the Firetruck!
SWAT jacket, How awesome is that? Does the Hummer Hover or what?
Up close and Personal with a Helicopter
Interact with a SWAT Robot
With that I complete another chapter in the Daw Chronicles. Take home message, Dad's Rock.

Lincoln Logs

Oh our Lincoln Logs. He was born screaming for 20 minutes straight. My first exhausted thought was, Is it too late to send that back? I quit crying, (Wait I mean he quit crying), I regained my senses and we have been happy ever since. He really has been such a great baby. As a small baby he really only cried when he was trying to tell you something. Even now he mostly cries out of frustration when... I am just not getting it!

He is still a huge fan of Peak-a-Boo. He just laughs hysterically. He just makes you want to laugh with him. Griff and Bri love to help entertain him. There are many times when all 3 can be seen happily sitting on the loveseat in the boys room, just chilling.

We must not skip the Essentials
Mommy's Sunglasses
Loves oversized hats, and bowls as hats
Pacifi (Pacifier)
Pocksicles (popsicles, atleast 2/time),
sippy (again 2 please)
Kiki's (blankets, the more the merrier)
Blankets, Stuffed friends, Sippy Cups, Every effort is exerted to transport all of these simultaneously! If anything should fall, he halts, bends over, loses even more stuff, repeat, repeat... until SuperMom comes to the rescue.
That lady is lost right now so let us know if you have seen her, STAT.
