Tonight it was Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches for dinner.
I called out to little Brian, "Do you want me to cut your sandwich in half?"
From the living room came a faint, "Yes, cut it in half."
Just as I completed the slice, Brian rounded the corner and bounced into the kitchen.
He said, "Did you cut it in a line of symmetry?"
I looked down, noticed it was, in fact cut vertically down the center and said, "Yes I did son.".
His face lit up like Christmas and he said, with gleeful exuberance,
"Thank You Mom! Thanks for the line of symmetry!"
Seriously, who would've thought it could be that simple to bring such abounding happiness!
If only we were all so easily pleased!
Have I mentioned lately how much I love this kid?!!!

Thank you for the story regarding lines of symmetry. It made me gleeful too. Love you sis. Hope you liked the movie tonight.
also, i dig your new background, it looks great!
Symmetry??? Does this mean #4 is being considered?! :) TuTu
very clever Tu Tu! HE really is the cutest kid. He comes up with some good ones!
I too truly appreciate symmetry. I can totally understand why it made him so happy.
I too love your background choices here, but even more, the story about Brian. Another time when powerful lessons come from the mouth of a child. Positive expectation, exuberant appreciation and amazing vocabulary! Love from the other Grandma---
I made a PB&J for Link last night and made the announcement that I made a line of symmetry and all of the kids had to come running in to witness. Brian looked it over and gave an approving nod, then explained to Griffin what a line of symmetry is.
Kids are awsome! And a triathalon? How do you have the time and energy. . . You are super-woman!
