Should I Stay, or Should I go?

I met up with girls from my Westwood High School graduating class of 96.

There were girls I hadn't seen in forever, there were girls I had seen last week.
Two girls left early and left our picture incomplete.

It is funny how many of us have that apprehension.

A sense of, "What will happen when I go and Who will I see?
Will it be fun, awkward, or filled with glee?
Will it be awesome or possibly lame?
What will I wear? Will everyone look and act the same?

If my absolute best friend comes, I know it'll be great.
As long as my cousin goes she could save me from an ill fate.
Sometimes I question, "Why do I want to go?,"
And "What is the point? Does anyone know?."
It's ideal to go with atleast one friend.
This way you can talk if you wish the night would end.

I find despite all the initial anxiety and strain.
It is always fine and the worry was in vain.

Luckily, each face was friendly, the visit was fun, I wish even more of my old friends had come.

So this was the day I decided to go.
Why not see old friends and enjoy people I know?
Memories were rekindled. Stories were told. Embarrassing moments evoked laughter in rolls.
Some friends were abroad, others had plans,
And I am sure some fell victim to their anxieties and invented demands.
I am just glad I didn't my fears placate,
Because life is too short, and they miss out who wait!!

I'm glad you had a good time! It is difficult to go to those types of things, esp if you (i mean me) dont have a degree or career to brag about. luckily you are covered there, and have 3 cute kids to boot! :)

What a fun day! How lucky for you that you all live so close to eachother. I've just discovered Facebook, and have reconnected with so many friends from high school and college, and it's amazing how after all these years, they still hold a special place in my heart. I'm glad you went!

Just want to reiterate how impressive it is that you can write in rhyme so well. I truly don't have that skill. It's been so fun having you around these last 2 weeks. Thanks again for all you've done.

Wendy,
I'm sooooo glad you came! It was great fun seeing you and everyone else--just like old times. We'll do it again, and hopefully more girls will come. Thanks for coming, and congrats on your tri. Exciting!
